Street Tower History The original building, located at 397 State Street in Albany served as a single family dwelling for Mr. Grange Sard. Real estate developer Ulysses Stockwell bought the house after Sard's death in 1924, making a large aparment for himself on the second floor. In the rear garden he constructed a thirteen story building on 94 Spring Street with ninety eight efficiency apartments linked to the house through the original mahogony-paneled front hall. It was occupied until 1993 when the property was abandoned and shut dwn due to neglect. In 1996 State Street Tower Associates LLC purchased the property and have undertaken the task of renovating and rehabilitating the property into a 60 unit apartment upscale facility.
